Obituary

Donna Barnard, age 78, of Prosser went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2015.
Donna was born May 11, 1936 in Townsend, MT to Viola Mae "Babe" Blake and Fred J. "Ted" Blake. The family lived in Eatonville, WA and Grandview, WA, where Donna graduated from high school in 1955.
The following year, she married her high school sweetheart, Eric Barnard in Royal Oak, MI. In 1961 they moved to Prosser.
Donna worked at Old National Bank and later as a homemaker. In 1972 she and Eric opened Perfect Printing, which was recognized as Washington's Small Business of the Year in 1995. Donna continued to operate the business after Eric passed away in 2006 and was recognized as Prosser's Outstanding Lady in 2008. She sold the business and retired last year.
Donna was a talented seamstress and a gracious hostess. She loved entertaining and travel. She enthusiastically supported Eric, working alongside him in renovating their home, business, church and Prosser's train depot.
She will be remembered for overfeeding everyone! She'll also be remembered for courage, character, kindness, hospitality and willingness to give advice.
Donna is survived by a son, Tim Barnard, and his wife, Debbie, of Newman Lake, WA; daughter, Sara Nelson and her husband Kevin Cole of Kennewick; grandchildren Jenni and Andy Watson, both of Prosser; Ryan and Brent Nelson, both of Richland; Sally (Nelson) Carpenter of Carson, WA; Katie Barnard of Airway Heights; Shelley (Barnard) Stewart of Miles City, MT; Anna (Barnard) Stewart and Blake Barnard, both of Newman Lake, WA; Christina Harmes of San Diego, CA and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric, and daughter, Kari (Barnard) Watson.
The family wishes to thank Jenni (Faulkner) Gant and Bev Garvey for their love and support during Donna's final weeks.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, April 14th at 11am at the Prosser Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at noon at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Prosser, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benton County Historical Museum.
