John Francis "Johnny" Burcham
June 22, 1966 - April 8, 2015
John Francis "Johnny" Burcham passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a year-long Illness.
Johnny was born in Muncie, IN on June 22, 1966 to John M. and Connie Susan (Slaven) Burcham.
Johnny graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1985.
He served in the U. S. Army as a Sergeant in the Military Police at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pennsylvania for five years and in the Army Reserve for four years.
After the Army, he was a painter, carpenter, roofer and tool maker until he was disabled in an accident in 2004.
He married Glenda Mahan on October 22, 2010. He was a member of Elm Grove Christian Church in Anderson.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Glenda Burcham, father, John M. (Jean) Burcham of Anderson; sisters, Elizabeth Haggard of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Tamara (Jeff Crider) Burcham of Anderson and Leslie (Will) Crumpton of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers, John (Krista) Ferguson; Shawn (Laura) Gordon of Anderson and special military brother, "Cowboy"; children, Rachel (Joshua) Elmore and Christopher Burcham of New Castle and Ashleigh (Daniel) Hudson of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Ernest (Krystal) Taylor, Scott (April) Taylor and Becky Taylor all of Anderson; Grandchildren, Justin, Jeremiah, Bradlee, Ethan, Taylor, Casey, Mikayla, Ronnie and Adam; nephews Joshua ( Taylor) Haggard and Zachary Mullins; great niece Hayley Haggard and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, Raymond and Daisy Burcham; Charles Slaven and Virginia Hoskins.
Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, April 13 at Elm Grove Christian Church; 2940 North 300 West; Anderson; with Rev. Mike Whiteman of Elm Grove Christian Church and Rev. Gary McCaslin of Aletheia Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.
Viewing will be Sunday, April 12 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and Monday 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
A special thank you to Dr. Sharief, his staff and the Chemo Infusion Center at the Erskine Cancer Center; the staff in the ICU; and the staff on the sixth floor at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. Thank you Dr. Abonour and the staff at the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at I.U. Medical Center.
