Obituary

Mrs. Edith Mae (Hudson) Parks, a resident of Medford for more than 55 years and beloved wife of the late Harold S. Parks, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was 78 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 10, 1936, she was the beloved daughter of the late William E., Sr. and Alice B. (Jodrey) Hudson. Mrs. Parks was a former long time member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Medford. Edith was a devoted mother of five. She also found time to lead a campfire girl troop for many years, Also acting as a camp instructor. In her younger years she found joy singing opera on the radio and sang in the church choir. While raising her five children she put herself through college, and worked as a paralegal helping many people. Edith will be very sorely missed.
She is survived by her loving children; Beverly A. Collins-DeSouza and her husband Gildimar M. DeSouza of Lowell, Barbara C. Parks and Anthony Iannacone of Monroe, Township, New Jersey, Richard S. Parks of Lowell, Emily Ruth Parks and her fiance John De Lima both of East Boston and Warren W. and his wife Nancy Parks of Waltham, survived also by twenty-two grandchildren,  fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late William E. Hudson, Jr.
Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, on Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 5 to 8:30 PM. Her funeral service will follow at 8:30 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be privately held. In lieu of flowers donations in Edith’s memory may be made to the Alliance for Animals, Non Profit Veterinary Care Center, 39 Lawey Street, Dorchester, MA 02122.
