Obituary

Kenneth G. Berg, Esq., 86, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Saint Vincent Hospital. His beloved wife of 48 years, G. Vivian (Mattson) Berg, pre-deceased him in 2005. He was also pre-deceased by a brother Curt W. Berg. Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Berg of Auburn and Leah C. Berg of Worcester, a nephew, Richard C. Berg and his wife Robbie of Illinois, their children Ryan C. Berg and his wife Amber, Robyn C. LaLonde and her husband Brian, and Renee C. Lee and her husband Brandon and their children Toby and Raegen. He also leaves a cousin, Lillian Melzer and her daughter Lena, both in Sweden.

Kenneth was born in Worcester, son of the late C.G. George Berg and Olga M. (Johnson) Berg. He graduated from North High School, Class of 1946, and then proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University and his Law Degree from The Boston University School of Law in 1954. Ken worked at his own law practice for several years and was appointed to the Worcester District Attorney's Office in 1961. He served as Chief Executive Assistant to District Attorneys William T. Buckley and John J. Conte until his retirement in 1996. He was the proud recipient of two awards - the Outstanding Community Service Award in 1972 and the St. Thomas More Society Ecumenical Award in 1990. He was an active and faithful member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge St., Worcester. A memorial Mass will follow at 12 noon in the church. Burial will be private. Nordgren Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kenneth G. and G. Vivian Berg Memorial Fund at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge St., Worcester, MA 01610.
