Obituary

WEBSTER – Dominic W. “Spinny” Scarglia, 83, died peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2015 at home.
He leaves 3 children: Darleen M. Socha and her husband Richard of Webster, Christine B. Carruthers of Winston-Salem, NC and Dino D. Scarglia and his wife Kathleen of Webster;6 grandchildren, Tara Karapanos and her husband James, Jesse Meagher and his wife Vanessa, Kate Kaczmarek and her partner Shana, Stephanie Scarglia, Anthony Scarglia and Gina Scarglia; 4 great-grandchildren, Peter and Chloe Karapanos, and Trevor and Tehya Meagher; 2 sisters, Lucille Tucker and Louise Bandlow, both of Webster; a brother, August Scarglia of Uxbridge; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his former wife Georgette M. (St.Martin) Scarglia.
He was born in Webster, a son of William and Mary (Pizzetti) Scarglia and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Scarglia worked as a printer at the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for several years and then as a driver at UPS in Shrewsbury for many years, retiring in 1993. He was a sports enthusiast and an ardent fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 17 in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors at the cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
