Obituary

Eula M. McMillan, 89, of Ocilla, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 3, 2015, at Mountain View Nursing Home in Clayton, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 4:30 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Brushy Creek Cemetery, Irwin County, with the Rev. Tommy McMillan officiating.

Mrs. McMillan was born April 2, 1926, in Smithfield, North Carolina, to the late James Thomas & Vonnie Dupree Massengill. Together with her husband, Emory D. McMillan, Sr., she owned McMillan's Jewelers in Ocilla. She was in the Ocilla Sewing Club and enjoyed making flower arrangements for shut-ins. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School and the WMU. Her ministry was making congealed salads, pies, and other baked goods for bereaved families.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Linda McMillan of Statesboro and E. David, Jr. and Donna McMillan of Clayton; grandchildren, Kate (Richard) Brannen, M’ryanne (Blaine) Peacock and Miriam (Kirk) Shook; great grandchildren, Ryan Brannen, Rachel Brannen, Witt Brannen, Emma Peacock, Abby Peacock and Maggie Peacock; a brother, Wilbur T. & Betsy Massengill of Smithfield, NC and a sister, Nettie M. Pitts of Oxford, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
