Obituary

Thomas L. Wilson Jr. age 72, of Windham, NH died Wednesday, February 2nd at his home.

He was born in Lawrence, MA on October 27, 1932, he was educated in the Methuen school system before attending Tilton Prep on a football scholarship. He went on to serve in the United States Army for two years during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed at Western Electric for seven years in the Quality Control Department. He then went on to serve the community of Windham as a police officer, where he was the 3rd full time police officer hired, and was known as Papa Bear until his retirement in 1987, after 23 years of service.

Mr. Wilson was an active member in a number of social clubs and organizations, including Windham Police Association, Lawrence Elks Lodge #65 and the New Hampshire Association of Retired Law Enforcement Officers. Tom enjoyed boating at Cobbett’s Pond, playing 45’s, hunting, golf, snowmobiling and fishing with his sons and grandsons.

Mr. Wilson was predeceased by a Son Gary R. Wilson

He leaves his wife of 49 years Beverly (Taylor) Wilson of Windham, NH

1 Son: Thomas L. Wilson III and wife Wanda of Chester, NH

3 Daughters: Elizabeth & husband David O’Loughlin of Derry, NH
Holly & husband Shaun Harrington of Ellington, CT.
Rosemary and husband Peter Finkhauser of Germantown, MD,

1 Brother: Raymond Wilson of Florida

12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 7, 2005 at 11 AM at St. Matthew Church, Windham, NH. Burial will follow in Cemetery on the Plain, Windham, NH

Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 6, 2005 from 2-5 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
