Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Douglas Jon Stavros, age 40, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 14 years, died Monday, January 31, 2005 at the De L’Enfant Jesus Hospital in Quebec, Canada.
He was the husband of Kristin (Buckley) Stavros with whom he celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary on November 14th.
Born in Boston on March 17, 1964, he was the son of William and Phyllis (Zolotos) Stavros, who survive him of Biddeford, ME.
Mr. Stavros was raised in Chelmsford. He attended Chelmsford schools and graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1982. Following graduation, he attended the University of New Hampshire, where he received his degree in business administration in 1986. During his college years, he was a member of the Sigma Beta Fraternity.

Mr. Stavros was currently employed as a business manager for Auto Snack Caterers, Inc. which was founded and operated by his family. He assisted in the operations of the family business for over 20 years.
Mr. Stavros was a member of the Transfiguration Church of Lowell.
He enjoyed numerous sporting and recreational activities including, hunting, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and restoring Oldsmobile “442” automobiles.
Mr. Stavros currently served as president of the Eastern Massachusetts GMO Chapter, whose officers and members promote and display restored Oldsmobile cars. In addition, he served as a current road captain and was a former director of the Merrimack Valley Harley Owners Group.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by 1 daughter; Jocelyn H. Stavros of Tewksbury; 1 son; Nicholas J. Stavros and his mother, Janet Wyer both of Tewksbury; 1 sister; Dianna Stavros and her husband Greg Gallucci of Kennebunk, ME; his niece and nephew; Olivia and Kyle Stavros both of Kennebunk, ME; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; Joan (Cushing) Buckley and Edward Buckley of Tewksbury; his sister-in-law; Kara (Buckley) Murray and her husband Wilmington Police Officer Daniel Murray of Tewksbury; his great aunt; Mrs. Isabel Keating of Rockford, Illinois.
Mr. Stavros was the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Stavropoulos and maternal great grandson of the late Mrs. Helen Karabineris.
Calling hours Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Saturday at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Transfiguration Church, Clark St., Lowell. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. At the family’s request, kindly OMIT FLOWERS.
