SALEM - Jean E. Darcy, 70, wife of the late John F. Darcy, formerly of Salem and Beverly, died Monday morning, January 31, 2005, in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. and Jane R. (Hill) Carter and was a member of the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Salem. She resided in Beverly for many years before going into the nursing home.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the former Merchants Warren Bank in Salem. She was previously employed at Gulf Oil in Beverly, CBS Hytron in Danvers and as an operator for New England Tel. & Tel. in Salem.
Mrs. Darcy is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Edward F. and Alicia Carter of Salem, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane A. and Peter Dolan, June A. and James Dolan, all of Danvers, Joan E. and John Repetto of Decatur, Georgia, Joyce E. and Albert Turner of Westminster, California and thirteen nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2005, at 12 pm at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday, 5 to 7 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
