Jeanne M. (Hammond) Lombardo, 73, of Yarmouthport, died on Sunday, January 30, 2005 from complications of lung cancer. She was the widow of Clifton E. Hammond and is survived by their children Michele Caudle and husband Dale of Dennis, Massachusetts; Clif Hammond and wife Ruth of Sturgis, Mississippi; Glenn Hammond and wife Diane of Holliston; and Jeff Hammond and wife Carrie Ann of Holliston. She was also the widow of Rocco R. Lombardo and is survived by his sons, Steve and wife Isabelle of Norwell; and Bob and wife Louann of Ashland. She was the loving grandmother of thirteen and a treasured friend to many. Born in St. Nazaire, France on January 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Gaston and Bernadette (Mahé) Perron, and the devoted sister of Yvonne Perron and Madeline Gillian, both of France, and the late Gaston, Gerard and Henry Perron. Jeanne was a long-time resident of Holliston and moved to Cape Cod in 1993. She was an active member of Brewster Baptist Church participating in a variety of caring ministries. Jeanne enjoyed painting and gardening but, most of all, time spent with her children and grandchildren. Her joyful, sweet and positive personality, genuine kindness, great sense of humor and cute French accent will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2003 at 12:30 p.m. at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Jeanne’s memory to the American Lung Association or the Brewster Baptist Church.
