Charles Anthony Marciano, 66, of Medford, MA, passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2015 at his home. He was born in Medford to the late Anthony and Concetta (Carabello) Marciano and was the beloved husband of Mary Beth (Simcik) Marciano.
Charles attended Boston College where he graduated in 1970 Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in English and, in 1975, with a JD. He graduated from Georgetown University with a Master's Degree in Law and is a member of Mensa. He served as a Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Lieutenant Commander after twenty years of service.
After retiring from the Navy, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. and retired as an Assistant General Counsel in 2014. While working in Washington he met the love of his life, Mary Beth, and they enjoyed 20 years together.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, James Marciano and his wife Elaine of N. Reading, MA, nephews Christopher Marciano of Boston, MA, David Simcik of Marshfield, MA, and Richard Simcik of Middletown, CT, and a niece, Alison Fillmore of TN, sisters-in-law Patricia, Carol, Margaret and Kathy of CT, brothers-in-law David and Walter of CT, several great nieces and nephews, his cousin Beverly Makohen, and many more cousins and friends.
Charlie was an avid reader and world traveler and especially enjoyed his time in Chatham, and in Washington, D.C. Charlie was a generous, kind person who loved his family, politics and sports (Especially the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics). He was a walking sports and political encyclopedia and amazed family and friends with his vast knowledge. His presence was for the good and positive, in attitude, accomplishment, decency, principle, and laughter, and his kind and generous spirit will live on. He will always be remembered by everyone who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday, April10 at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Thursday 4-8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
