Donald H. “Pop” Busbin, 76, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 31, 2005 at Riverbend Baptist Church, Irwin County, with the Rev. Jim Britt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Busbin was born April 23, 1928, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Henry Herring and Tyus Etta “Mama B” Veal Busbin. He had lived in Irwin County most of his life. Mr. Busbin was a farmer and a house painter. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Irwin County, Mr. Busbin had served in the Georgia Army National Guard.
Mr. Busbin is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Jimmy Goulden of Ashburn and Judi and Jim Britt of Mountain City; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Randall and Jo Busbin and Andy Busbin, all of Ocilla; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Joe Busbin and Franklin Busbin, both of the Waterloo Community, Irwin County; five sisters: Clara Jordan of Tampa, Florida, Bernice Duckworth and Jewell Robinson, both of Warner Robins, and Norma Baker and Jackie Hampton, both of the Waterloo Community, Irwin County. He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Sue Wisner Busbin, three brothers, and five sisters.
