Obituary

Fall River – Roger A. Doucette, 67, of Westport died Friday, January 28, 2005 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol J. (Guay) Doucette.

He was born in Fall River, a son of the late Romeo O. and Madeleine D. (Gajoli) Doucette, and had lived in Westport since 1965. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was a service engineer for Fall River Gas Company. He served his country in the National Guard. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. Mr. Doucette was former president of the A.F.L. – C.I.O. Local 431 of Fall River. An avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the Gold Wing Touring Association, Chapter C of Massachusetts and the Gold Wing Road Riders, Chapter F of New Bedford.

Including his wife, he is survived by a son: David R. Doucette of Westport; 2 daughters: Renée E. Kirby and her husband Ross of WA and Monique J. Sampson and her husband Stephen of Dartmouth; 3 brothers: Robert A. Doucette of Fairhaven, Normand E. Doucette of Key Largo, FL and Paul L. Doucette of Palm Harbor, FL; 2 sisters: Murielle V. DeSouza of Newington, CT and Claudette F. Martin of Westport; 2 grandchildren: Brandon Ray and Kyle Ray; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Rene Doucette.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Rd., Westport Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Tuesday 4 – 8 P.M.
