Dartmouth - Manuel Xavier, passed away at Brandon Woods, Wednesday January 26, 2005. He was the loving husband of the late Maria da Conceicao(Oliveira) Xavier, father of Ana and her Husband Joao Melo of New Bedford, Maria C. Furtado of New Bedford , Paul Xavier of New Bedford and his deceased sons Jose and Leonardo Xavier. Beloved grandfather of Melissa Melo, Jessica Melo, Sandra Furtado, Michael Amaral, Kevin Amaral, Brandon Xavier, Corey Xavier and his 6 Greatgrandchildren. He was the brother of Antonio, Eduardo and Jerinho Xavier, Maria do Carmo, Angela and Ilda Brum.
He was the son of the late Jose and Ana (DeMelo) Xavier. He was born in Ribeira da Quente, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and lived in the New Bedford area for the past 22 Years. He was formerly employed as a machine operator at Cornell Dubilier
His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in New Bedford. Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting hours on Friday, January 28, 2005 from 4 to 8 P.M
