Obituary

Barbara L. (Bowman) Cayon, a long-time Medford resident, died Tuesday morning at home, She was 73.


Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Mae (Lanigan) Bowman. Barbara graduated from Medford High School. She worked for the City of Medford as a secretary in the Public Works Department. An active member in the community, she served as secretary on the Medford Committee for our nation’s Bi-Centenial. A tireless traveler, Barbara also enjoyed membership in the candle-pin bowling league at Charles St. Lanes, Malden.


She was the beloved wife of George G. Cayon with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Denise M. Patten and her husband David of Dunbarton, NH, Christine Tringali and her husband Richard of Wakefield. She was a loving grandmother to Lauren and Danielle and a dear sister to Edna Pento of Holbrook and John Bowman of Westford.


Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 2 - 5 and 6 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery,
