DOROTHY C. LIEBIG
MYSTIC: Dorothy C. Liebig passed away January 25, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, a victim of Leukemia. She was born July 30, 1920 in Brooklyn NY, the daughter of Else and Otto E. Liebig. Her brother, Otto E. Liebig Jr. of Mystic, niece Nicole Vernstrom of Santa Barbara, CA, niece Kirsten Nelson of Ponte Vedra, FL and nephew Marc Liebig of Niantic, CT, survive her.
Dorothy graduated from Washington Irving High School, NY, and from Pratt Institute. During World War II she worked for Grumman Aviation. She moved to Old Mystic in 1967 and became an ardent golfer. She was a member of Pequot Golf Club and was Woman’s Champion for several years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 28, at 7pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic. Interment in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic, will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Mystic and Noank Library, 40 Library Street, Mystic CT 06355.
