John W. "Bill" Bagley
Aug. 26, 1924 - March 19, 2015

John W. "Bill" or "Sawman" Bagley, 90, of Anderson passed away March 19, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.

He was born August 26, 1924 to Arnold and Dessie Bagley and lived his full life in Anderson.

As a young man, he joined and served under General Patton in the U. S. Army European Theatre in Italy, Germany and Africa in the Tank Battalion 760 from 1942 to 1945.

He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years and owned and operated Bagley's Saw Sharpening for over 50 years, of which a family member will continue the service.

He enjoyed going fishing with his son, gardening, and tinkering with mechanics of every object.

Survivors include his son, John D. (Jo) Bagley of Anderson; daughter, Linda L. Bagley of Anderson; granddaughter, Amanda D. (Jeff) Bagley Kidd of Anderson sister, Pat Bagley Rumler of Anderson; brother, Arnold Bagley, Jr. of Fort Wayne; and a dear cousin, Dixie Eskew of Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgiana (Martz) Bagley, whom he married on September 5, 1947 and who died in 2008; his parents and four brothers, Jess Bagley; Don Bagley, Marvin Bagley and Ralph Bagley.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Southern Care Hospice staff for their love and kindness.

Memorial contributions may be give to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service
with Rev. Alvin Dayton officiating, military honors will follow. Visitation will be Friday, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
