Sandra E. (Harrison) Sharples, 63, of Fairhaven died January 20, 2005 at home after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
She was the wife of Thomas O. Sharples.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Faith (Gregson) Harrison, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Fairhaven six years ago.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, were she was a member of the Vestry, the Altar Guild, and the Women's Group. She also served on the committee that restored an 1852 pipe organ at the Church.
Mrs. Sharples was formerly employed at the Bedford Merchant in Downtown New Bedford for 16 years.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, Class of 1959. She loved being with her family, her home, and going to the beach.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tenney L. Pacheco, and her husband Liberal, of Lakeville, and Heidi L. Zelski-Cousineau, and her husband Dennis, of Fall River; a stepdaughter, Doreen Baker, and her husband Brett, of Swansea; two stepsons, Thomas S. Sharples, and his wife Susan, and Chris Sharples, and his wife Debra, all of New Bedford; and 11 grandchildren, Jared W. Zelski, Tamra L. Pacheco, Jacob L. Pacheco, Faith L. Pacheco, Ryan Sharples, Zachary Sharples, Trevor Lambert, Holly Sharples, Matthew Sharples, Daniel Sharples and Thomas Sharples.

Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Monday, January 24th from 4-7 PM.
