Harry F. Cann

...retired from Raytheon and Harcan Ind.; 87

TEWKSBURY - Harry F. Cann, 87, a former buyer for Raytheon, and owner of HarcanIndustries, died Sunday afternoon, April 7, at his Tewksbury home following a brief illness. Hewas the husband of Elsie W. (Williams) Cann, with whom he had celebrated a 63rd weddinganniversary this past September 17th.

He was born in Ingonish, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, April 4, 1915, a son of the late Daniel andReta (Coleman) Cann. He lived in Cape Breton until moving to Watertown, Mass. in his 10thyear. He graduated from Watertown High School, and later attended Bentley School ofAccounting and Business. He raised his family in Billerica, and moved to Tewksbury 39 yearsago.

He retired from Raytheon’s Purchasing Department at the former South Lowell Plant in 1972. He continued his career as founder and owner of Harcan Industries, machinists and manufacturerof small parts.

He was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in North Billerica.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, was an avid HO model train enthusiast, and CB’er using the handle“Herring choker.” During his Raytheon years, he also belonged to the Raytheon ManagementClub.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Janice MacLeod and her husband EugeneGeaumont of No. Waterboro, Maine, three sons, Richard and his wife Joanne (Smith) Cann ofPort Orange, Fla., Allen Cann and Carole Colantoni of Haverhill, and Barry Cann of Wilmington,14 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister Grace Cann, a brother, William Cann, and a grandson, KennethCann who died in 1986.

His Funeral Service was held Tuesday, April 9, in St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, No. Billerica. Interment was in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
