George E. Bucklin, 61, of Derry, NH, died Friday, January 21, 2005 in the Parkland Medical Center. Mr. Bucklin was born in Belfast, ME on August 16, 1943, a son of the late Eli and Frances (Cottrell) Bucklin. He was a resident of Derry for over 30 years, formerly living in Maine. He was a graduate of Belfast High School in Belfast, ME. At one time he had served with the East Derry Fire Dept. He was employed as a truck driver for the Town of Derry for 13 years. George enjoyed watching the birds and working on small engines.
He is survived by his wife, Joan D. Cornetta of Derry, one daughter, Judy Arsenault of Derry, one grandson, Zachary Arsenault of Derry, four brothers, Steven Bucklin of Searsport, ME, Harry Bucklin of Bradford, RI, Owen Bucklin of Belfast, ME, James Bucklin of Harva DeGrace, MD, five sisters, Lucille Pica of Palm Coast, FL, Eleanor Canning of Waldo, ME, Lois McDermott of Belfast, ME, Ellen Greenleaf of Swanville, ME, Fay Bucklin of Glasgow, KY, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., Northeast Affiliate, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
