Obituary

Donald F. McIntyre, age 75, of North Easton, died peacefully March 19, 2015, surrounded by family at the home of his daughter. Donald was the husband of the late Carol (Ochs) McIntyre. Born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, he was the son of the late Angus and Mary McIntyre. He was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology. He served his country with the United States Air Force. He was an avid baseball fan and during his time in the military, he played on a travelling team through out Europe. For many years he was a coach for the West Side Little League in Brockton. In addition to baseball, he also loved to bowl. He was a self- employed carpenter for many years and he retired as Facilities Manager from Stone and Webster-Shaw Group in 2012 where he had been employed for over 20 years. Donald was known for his great sense of humor, sharp wit, love for his family and his gracious generosity. He will be missed by the many who loved him.
Donald is survived by his children Michael McIntyre and his wife Mary Kay of Reading; John McIntyre and his wife Sheri of Brockton and Deborah Basse and her husband Albert “Chip” of North Easton; a dear nephew Jack Donahue of Austin TX; two step daughters Ann Malamphy and Jane Ochs-Miller; nine grandchildren Katie, Megan, Amanda, Jessica, and Mackenzie McIntyre; Cheryl, Brittany, Alexa and Albert Basse IV; three step grandchildren Justin, Robert, and Raiya; five sisters Catherine MacIntyre, Christina Cugno, Florence Stowe, Evelyn Easter, Nancy Manganiello, and Margaret Kepple and many beloved nieces and nephews. Donald was the former husband of the late Mary E. (Donahue) McIntyre and brother of the late Mary, John, and Joseph MacIntyre.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:45am for a funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Easton at 10am. Burial will be at a later date at The Gardens at Gethsemane, Cemetery, West Roxbury. Please consider donations in his name to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
