Wilfred E. “Willie” Perron, 88, passed away, Monday, March 16, 2015 at UMass/Memorial Hospital, University Campus in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 67 years, Helen J. (Emrick) Perron, 4 children, Joanne Perron-Petrelli and her husband Bruce of Appomattox, VA., Denise L. Solodyna-Cammarata and her husband Joseph of Blackstone, Kenneth E. Perron and his wife Barbara J. Perron and Joseph W. Perron all of Charlton, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Wilfred was born in Grafton the son of the late Wilfred J. and Alice (Bourassa) Perron .He also lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Charlton 30 years ago. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Rowe, Norman and Charles and a sister Loretta and a grand-daughter Kim.
Mr. Perron was a building contractor for many years, a member of the Builders Association of Worcester, he also received the 25d ‘Life Spike ‘Award from the National Association of Home Builders , a member of St. Joseph’s Church , a member of the VFW Post #10420, he also enjoyed golfing, and was an avid sports fan of the Bruins, Patriots and Yankees.
Willie served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Staff Sgt. in the European Theater.
The Funeral will be Friday, March 20, 2015 with a Mass at10AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H-Putnam Rd., Ext. Burial with Military Honors will be at a later date in Northside Cemetery.
Calling Hours for Willie will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 4PM to 7PM at the ROBERT J. MILLER – CHARLTON FUNERAL HOME, 175 Old Worcester Rd.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
