George P. Cote, 88, of Derry, NH, died Friday March 13, 2015 in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. He was born in Sherbrooke, Canada on February 27, 1927, a son of the late Gideon and Aurore (Carboneau) Cote. He had been a resident of Derry for the past four years, formerly living in Deltona, FL and Windham NH. In his youth, he enjoyed boxing and was the Golden Gloves Champion in 1947. George had been employed as a track foreman for B & M Railroad until retirement. He was an avid tennis player and was known to play every day it was possible.
He is survived by his wife Lucille (Bodah) Cote of Derry; one daughter, Linda M. Khoury of Derry; three sons, Dennis Cote of Manchester, NH, Richard Cote of Derry, and Michael Cote of Austin, TX; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Cote of Plaistow, NH, and Paul Cote of California; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Monday, March 16th from 9 - 10am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service followed at 10:00am in the funeral home.
