FRAMINGHAM: Cesar F. Brooks, 61, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his Framingham residence on Sunday, March 8, 2015 following a courageous and dignified battle from lung cancer.
He was born in Manila, Philippines on June 20, 1953 the son of the late William Brooks and Marietta (Ordillas) Brooks.
Cesar is survived by his former wife Laura L. Hunter-Brooks of Framingham and their children Lenny R. Brooks of Auburndale, Michael A. Brooks and Christopher A. Brooks both of Framingham. Devoted grandfather of Michael S. Brooks. Also survived by his longtime companion Marian “Meme” Grant of Framingham.
Cesar moved to the United States from the Philippines in 1958 and traveled throughout the country with his military family before settling in Massachusetts. He has been a resident of Framingham for the past 34 years.
Prior to his retirement, he was a service technician for 30 years with Keane Fire and Safety of Waltham. He loved traveling with his family and especially enjoyed time spent at Rhode Island beaches. He was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed photography and gardening. He was a people person and loved to meet people from all walks of life. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9:00 o’clock at the Church of St. George, 74 School Street (Rte 126), Framingham.
Private family interment will be held at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
