Doris E. (Willis) Lamprey age 83 of Salem, NH, died Monday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.
She was born in Methuen, MA, grew up and was educated in Salem, NH, where she graduated from Woodbury High School in 1939. She later graduated from Burdette Secretarial School. She has been a resident of Salem, NH since 1929.
Mrs. Lamprey was a retired homemaker. She had also worked for HP Hood in Lawrence, MA and worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone in the Salem, NH Depot.
Mrs. Lamprey was a member of the Hannah Tenney United Methodist church in Salem, NH She was a member and Past Matron for the Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 57 in Salem, NH, and past Grand Organist for the State of NH Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Salem Christian Women’s Club, Past Mother Advisor for the Salem Rainbow Girls, and Past President of the Salem Garden Club. Mrs. Lamprey also was a member and Past President of the Salem Women’s Club, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Salem Memorial Post 8546. She was also a member of the Betsy Ross Chapter of the DAR in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
She was predeceased by her Husband John H. Lamprey.
She is survived by 1 Son: John & his Wife Carol Lamprey of Londonderry, NH
2 Daughters: Virginia & her Husband Thomas Tsirimokos of Manchester, NH
Jane & her Husband William Carter of Salem, NH
6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 10 AM at the Hannah Tenney United Methodist Church, Main Street, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 21, 2005 from 3-8 PM, with an Order of Eastern Star Service at 6:30 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
