Barbara Ann (Durgin) Blais, 64, of New Bedford died Sunday January 16, 2005 at Kristen Beth Nuring Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Charles Blais.
Born in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Edward M. and Florence M. (Jones) Durgin, she lived in New Bedford for many years.
Mrs. Blais was a loving mother who always thought of others before herself.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard James Blais of New Bedford and David John Blais, both of New Bedford; two daughters, Marianne Silveira of Dartmouth, and Lori Ann Blais of New Bedford; a half-brother, Bruce Durgin of Acushnet; a half-sister, Christine Dube of New Bedford; and 6 grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Joseph Charles Blais, Jr. and Cheryl Ann Blais, and the daughter-in-law of the late Leonard H. and Aurora (Tanguay) Blais.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2005 at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday January 18, 2005 from 4-8 PM.
