Funeral Services for Mr. Horace E. Davis, 81, of Ashburn will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away Monday at Tift Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.
The son of the late James “Jimmie” Edward and Lories Ollie Bass Davis, he was born in Turner Co. where he lived his entire life. A veteran of WW II he served in the U.S. Army and was a retired Security Guard. He was a member of the New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church where he served as deacon. Mr. Davis was the widower of Mardarett Laverne Jolley Davis.
Survivors include his brother in laws and sister in laws Travis and Frances Jolley of Ashburn, Grace and Gerald Luke, Chattanooga, TN, Diane and Tommy Raschke, Lakeland, Fla. and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 till 8 at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn.
