FALL RIVER - John A. Barboza, age 72, of 21 Everett St., died Sunday in Fall River at his home with his family by his side. He was the Husband of Claudette J. (La France) Barboza, Father of John Robert Barboza of Fall River and Denise L. Boutin of Fall River, Grandfather of Christopher and Russell Boutin, Great-grandfather of Justin Tyler Boutin
Born in Fall River, MA the son of the late Mary Barboza. He was born and raised in Fall River, before moving to Westport then returning to Fall River in 1956. He had worked for the Fall River Public Works Dept. as a Watchman at the Fall River Incinerator, prior to retiring. He was a member of Notre Dame Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
His Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main Street on Thursday at 8:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Notre Dame Church at 9:00 AM.
