Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 10 am. Burial in Edson Cemetery, Lowell. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 1115 W. Chestnut St. Brockton, MA 02301.
Obituary
Mrs. Cary died Saturday evening at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness.She was born in Billerica, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Foley) Porter. She was raised and educated in Randolph and was a graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph and Women and Children’s Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. Mrs. Cary retired from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as supervisor of nursing home inspectors. She was a Member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1046 of Brockton and Past President of District 12 VFW Auxiliary. She was also past grand president of the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary. Mrs. Cary was also a member and past president of the PM Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was also a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles M. Cary, a daughter, Karen D. (Kelly)Jackson of McKinney, TX; three sons, Albert Maher of Brockton; Allan Maher of Stuttgart, Germany and Kevin Maher of Brockton, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
