Joseph A. Di Martino, of Saugus, a former long-time Medford resident, died Saturday at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 80.
Mr. Di Martino was born and raised in Medford, the son of the late Frank and Josephine Di Martino. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Joe went on to graduate from Northeastern University. He work for over 25 years with the Polaroid Corp. as a chemical engineer. Mr. Di Martino lived in Medford most of his life, spending the last few between Saugus and Florida. He was a member of the VFW, DeFronzo Post, Saugus.
He was the beloved husband of Rose (Ciccia). He was a devoted father to Robert Di Martino and his wife Rosemarie of Medford, Denise Dolan and her husband Peter of Braintree, Joseph Di Martino and his wife Cheryl of North Andover, Thomas Di Martino and his wife Sue of Haverhill. He was a loving grandfather to 9 Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Robert Di Martino of Braintree and Richard Di Martino of NH.
Relatives and friends may visit Tuesday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
