Richard Allwood Buitta passed away peacefully on March 6th following a period of ill health. Born in Norwood, MA on December 22, 1955, he was the beloved son of Idamae Bowman Buitta of Medway, MA and the late George Robert Buitta Sr. He is also survived by his siblings: Sandra K. Lozzi of Franklin, MA, George Robert Buitta Jr. of Lincoln, RI, Sherrill Anne Hope of Bourne, MA, and Rosemary Buitta-Boucher of Bellingham, MA. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him, including: Lauri Anne Lozzi & Robert V. Lozzi Jr.,of Franklin and Brenda McMorrow, of Bourne, MA, to whom, he was always "Uncle".
Rich was raised in Franklin and attended Franklin High School. He lived in Medway, MA for many years until he moved to Oxford, MA three years ago. Richy, as he was known to family and friends, was a mechanic early in his life and enjoyed working on engines and restoring all manner of transportation. He was a self taught electronics "wizard" who loved anything to do with audio - visual equipment. He was a naturally gifted athlete in his youth and loved football. He especially loved to watch the old Sunday games with his Dad. As a young man he was a skilled marksman and loved to fish as well. Music and anything at all related to music was a passion of Richy's throughout his life. Richy loved spending time with his family and reminiscing about the family farm on Forest Street, in Franklin, where most of his favorite memories lay.
Richy's most notable attribute was his personality. He was always the most "well liked", the most "popular" and arguably the "coolest" guy wherever he resided or wherever he spent any time at all. Richy was able to make a friend anywhere. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He will not only be deeply missed by his family but by the many friends he made over his lifetime.
"Always, above all else, a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend. Until we meet again....."
