Colleen T. McDanel, age 50, (but forever 47 ½), passed away on March 4, 2015 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH with her devoted husband of 30 years, Paul David McDanel, their daughter, Heather Lynn (Nugent) and her son in law, Ryan Nugent, by her side after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Colleen was born on May 11, 1964 in Hampstead, NY to Patricia (Fitzpatrick-Foley) Koller and Robert Foley. She attended high school on Long Island, NY and successfully completed her reagents exam. She attended nursing courses at the Manchester Technical College in New Hampshire.
Colleen was a beloved mother, wife and daughter and also a friend to all. She had a special way with children that this world shall never see again. Children gravitated to her like bear to honey.
Mark Twain once wrote, “My mother had a small, slender body but a large heart…A heart so large that everybody’s joys found welcome in it and hospitable accommodation.” She loved and cherished everyone she ever met and there was always room for one more in that large heart. Though a very ill woman, she always wanted to help you the best she was able, meanwhile telling you how amazing and special she believed you to be. Anyone she met in this world will forever remember her fondly.
We loved you like there was no tomorrow…and then one day there wasn’t.
She leaves behind her husband, Paul McDanel and daughter, Heather Lynn (McDanel) Nugent and her husband, Ryan, all of Manchester, NH; her mother and stepfather, Patricia and Jack Koller of The Villages, FL; her father, Robert B. Foley Sr. of Kentucky; her sisters, Kerri Anne Edwards of Winsted, CT, Lisa Marie (Foley) Delena of Long Island, NY and Kate Foley of Kentucky; her brothers, John Koller of Manchester, NH and Robert B. Foley Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A private ceremony will be held at Haynes Cemetery in Appanoose County, Iowa at a later date.
