Fernando Baldassari, of Woburn, formerly of Medford and the North End, died Tuesday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center. He was 88.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Vittorio and the late Josephine (Gentile) Baldassari. He served in the Navy during World War II. Fernando worked over 30 years for the City of Boston and after his retirement worked for Suffolk Downs as a cashier. A Medford resident for 40 years, Fernando lived in Woburn for the past 6 years.
He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (Reppucci) Baldassari. He was a devoted father of Lorraine Carapellucci, Linda Birdsong, Victor, David, Fred, Michael, Paul, Thomas and Mark Baldassari. He was a loving grandfather to 27 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and dear brother of Olga, Camella and Mary.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at 10 AM am in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
