Joseph M. Freda, age 85, of Reading formerly of Medford, passed away January 11th, following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Alexandria (LoPresti) whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Rose (Ferrara) and Joseph Freda.
Mr. Freda was a Medford High School graduate and also served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He was a retired bus driver with the MBTA following 33 years of service. He also was a life member of the Reading VFW Post 685.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Somerville, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Mr. Freda is survived by his children; Joseph and Salvatore of Reading, James of Windham, NH, Ines Height of Derry, NH and Deborah DeFeudis of North Andover. He was the loving pappa of Ines, Michelle, Heidi, Michael, Stacey, Lisa, Joseph, Alexandria, John, Joey, Eric and 1st Lt. James Freda, USMC. He was also the loving great pappa of Jordan, Michael, Tommy, and Christian.
