William E. Simpson, 89, of Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH died Thursday November 1, 2001 at the Salemhaven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Huntingdon, England on September 7, 1912, a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Barton) Simpson.
He was a resident of Derry for four years, before moving to Salemhaven Nursing Home. He formerly resided in Wallingford, CT. He emigrated from England to the United States in 1926.
He served in the US Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wallingford, CT. He was predeceased by his wife Florence I. (Schneider) Simpson in 1984.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia G. Obringer, of Seven Lakes, NC, Sandra G. Clark of Windham, NH, four grandchildren, one brother Graham Simpson, of Texas, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience.
