WORCESTER-Honora “Nora” (Suleski) Bernier, died Monday, January 10th in the University Hospital at Stony Brook, Long Island after being stricken ill December 21st while visiting her daughter. She would have celebrated her 88th birthday on January 15th. Her husband Earl J. Bernier, Sr. died in 1990. She is survived by her son Earl J. Bernier, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Leicester and her daughter Patricia J. wife of Donald Fleming of Nesconset, NY, and 5 granddaughters, triplets, Abigail, Kaleigh and Meghan Bernier and Kaitlin and Shannon Fleming.
She was born in Holyoke the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Pliszka) Suleski and had lived in Boston, Oxford and Cherry Valley and Worcester. Mrs. Bernier was a graduate of the High School of Commerce, and had been employed by the former Worcester City Hospital as Principal Clerk of the Radiology Department for many years. She was a member of the Society of Medical Transcribers, and was an accomplished baker, cook, seamstress and gardener.
The funeral is Saturday, January 15th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant Street, Leicester. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are Friday, January 14th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
