Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 11am. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm. Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.

Gertrude M. Caruso, 78 years of Brockton died Monday morning at the BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was born Boston, daughter of the late Todd H. and Elizabeth A. (MacDonald) Stewart. She was raised and educated in Randolph. For many years she had worked at the former Randy Boat Shoe in Randolph. Before her marriage she was a waitress at the Waldorf Restaurant in Boston. She enjoyed knitting and playing bingo and she also loved to listen to the police scanner.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianna E. Shea and her husband Stephen of Brockton and a son Frank C. Caruso and his wife Melanie of Dover, NH, four grandchildren, Danielle and Jonathan Shea of Brockton and Brian Caruso of Manchester, NH and Casey Caruso of Portsmouth, NH., a sister Hazel Purchase of Quincy and a brother Walter Stewart of California and many nieces and nephew.
