Obituary

DUDLEY – Robert F. Dusseault, 78, a longtime resident, died Sunday, Jan. 9, in Sterling Healthcare. His wife of 32 years, Evelyn D. (Jedrzynski) Dusseault, died in 1993.

He leaves a son, Daniel R. Dusseault of Altadena, CA; 5 daughters, Ellen M. Batbouta of Hollis, NH, Nancy L. Remy of Atkinson, NH, Janet E. Knapp of Princeton, Grace A. Mekelski of Holland, VT, and Marilyn F. Therrien of Holden; 16 grandchildren.

He was born and raised inWare, the son of Hildege and Bella (Delorme) Dusseault, and attended Ware High School. He moved to Webster in 1960 and then to Dudley in 1964.

Mr. Dusseault was social worker at the Worcester Welfare Department for 15 years before retiring in 1989. Before that, he worked at the former Worcester Armory and then at the Worcester Taper Pin Co. for 14 years.

Active in town affairs, he was a former member of the planning board and the council on aging. He had also served as a cemetery commissioner. He was once the chairman of the Dudley Democratic Town Committee and also served as chairman of the town’s celebration for the US Constitution. He also was the manager of both the Webster Little League and the Dudley Little League, and was a commissioner of the Babe Ruth League in Central Mass. He was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Sterling Healthcare Activities Fund, 18 Dana Hill Road, Sterling, MA 01564
