CHICOPEE – Cecile A. Paul, 93, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, February 28, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at the Holyoke Medical Center after being stricken at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on August 16, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur Paul and Anna (Lapointe) Paul. She was raised in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, graduated from Saint Joan of Arc Elementary School and moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee around 1959. During her leisure time, Cecile enjoyed antiquing, playing cards and was an avid visitor to her favorite spot, Mohegan Sun. Most of all, she was a caring mother who adored her children and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and a former member of their Ladies Sodality Guild. She leaves her two devoted sons, Paul R. Lajeunesse of Chicopee with whom she lived and Dennis J. Lajeunesse and his wife, Darlene, of Chicopee; her loving step daughter, Constance Lafleur of Chicopee; her two cherished granddaughters, Danielle M. Jimmo and her husband, George, of Chicopee and Dominique L. Lajeunesse and her fiancé, Anthony P. DiSantis, of Springfield; her cherished great-granddaughter, Lily M. Jimmo of Chicopee; her two dear brothers, Roger A. Paul and Robert N. Paul and his wife, Terry, all of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Ann Paul of California; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her two dear brothers, Raymond Paul and Joseph Paul; and her four dear sisters, Irene Paul, Jean Avey, Rita Bihler and Lillian Demers. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, March 7, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
