Worcester- Malvina E. (Ambrose) Starkin, 93, of 25 Puritan Ave., died Friday, Jan. 7, in her home.
Her husband of 58 years, Paul E. Starkin, died in 1998. She leaves a son, Paul A. Starkin of Holden; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Benedict and Apolina (Norkevich) Ambrose and lived here all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School.
Mrs. Starkin once worked as a timekeeper for several years at Hamblin- Russell Company.
She was a member of St. Casimir Parish and had been a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Lithuania. During the 1950’s she was a volunteer nurse’s aide for the American Red Cross. She had also volunteered for the Easter Seals for many years.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Easter Seals of Massachusetts, 484 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608.
