Obituary

Richard J. Bennett, age 60, of Roslindale died on January 7, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton following a brief illness. Mr. Bennett was born in the Boston and grew up in the Roxbury section of the city by the Whittier Street Development. He attended the St. Frances De Sales Grammer School and later graduated from Boston Trade High School. He was employed by the Travis Associates, a Boston counseling agency as a clerk. Mr. Bennett has been a resident of Roslindale for the past eight years. Mr. Bennett was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his mother, Louise M. (Victorine) Bennett of East Boston, two children, Robert Bennett of Ohio and Tina Lampros of Rowley, MA. He was the brother of Joseph Bennett of Quincy, George Bennett of Norton, Karen Sheppa of East Boston, Wayne Bennett of Plymouth, and Deborah Gavin of East Boston. He also leaves three grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday January 10 at 11:00 am in the P.E. Murray-George F.Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury. Private interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
