Fall River – Stuart C. Semmens, 41, of Westport died unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at home.
He was born in Huntington, NY, a son of James M. Semmens III of Tiverton and the late Sarah M. (Hall) Semmens and stepson of Patricia J. (Kelliher) Semmens of Tiverton. He grew up in the Dallas area as a young man prior to moving to Tiverton at the age of 17 and had resided in Westport for the past 7 years. A graduate of Bristol Community College, he was a computer lab technician at Bristol Community College for 20 years.
Mr. Semmens was a very loving and caring soul who volunteered with Habitat for Cats of Dartmouth. He was proud of the fact that he had been affiliated with and was an active member of Alcoholic Anonymous for 18 years. He enjoyed going to flea markets and watching movies.
Including his father and step mother he is survived by: 2 brothers: James M. Semmens IV of Fort Worth, TX and Scott A. Semmens of Graham, TX; a sister: Gale A. Williams of Lewisville, TX; 2 step brothers: David R. Johnston of Bristol, RI and Mark S. Johnston of Maui, HI; a step sister: Susan P. Rezendes of Wareham; dear friends: Susan L. Snell of Westport and Robert Gautreau of Fall River; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 3:00 P.M.
Calling hours Sunday 2 – 3 P.M. prior to service.
Interment will be private.
