Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Bertha A. (Remillard) Millette, 87, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at the Holyoke HealthCare Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Springfield on April 24, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Elzear L. and Clara A. (Boucher) Remillard. She was raised in the North End section of the city and later moved to White Street in the Forest Park section of the city where she lived for many years. She was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church and the former Saint Joseph Church, both in Springfield. She was currently a communicant of Saint Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased be her beloved husband and best friend, J. Armand Millette who was Called Home on June 29, 1995. They were married on April 23, 1949 at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 46 years of happiness together. She leaves her three devoted children, Diane C. Millette of Holyoke, Doreen A. Wilson of Bear, DE and Daniel A. Millette and his wife, Nora, of Holyoke; her two cherished step-grandchildren, Nicole Landry and Richard Landry, Jr.; her two loving sisters, Lorraine Missett and her husband, Walter, of Dennis, MA and Stewart, FL and Cecile Benoit of Springfield; her loving brother-in-law, Emile Laflamme of Largo, FL; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Millette, Remillard and Boucher families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her three loving brothers and four loving sisters, Herve Remillard, Roger Remillard, Maurice Remillard, Juliette Boisvert, Nella Nadeau, Lillian Berrouard and Jeannette Laflamme. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, March 5, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129. Her burial will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Holyoke Health Care Center Resident Council Fund, 282 Cabot Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
