Elizabeth F. “Betty” Glotch, 89, of Oleson Road, Derry, NH died Thursday April 4, 2002 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry following a brief illness. She was born in Lawrence, MA on September 28, 1912, a daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth F. (Tracey) McCarthy. She was a resident of Derry for the past 13 years, formerly living in Methuen, MA and Lawrence, MA for many years. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1930. She attended Bryant McIntosh Business School in Lawrence. She was employed as an office manager for Fruit Salad Inc, Lawrence, retiring after more than 25 years. While living in Lawrence, Mrs. Glotch was very involved in church activities. She enjoyed crewelwork, needle point and was a seamstress. She was also very involved with her grandchildren and loved devoting time to them. She was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Glotch in 1979.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Steven (Lucy) Nickerson, Derry, NH, one son, Edward (Wife Mary) Glotch, Gardner, MA, three grandchildren, Geoffrey S. Nickerson, Timothy D. Glotch, Elizabeth C. Glotch, one brother, John J. McCarthy, Salem, NH, and one nephew, Kevin McCarthy, Lawrence, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 8, 2002 at 10:00am at Holy Cross Church, Hampstead Road, Derry. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, Ma. Friends may call on Sunday April 7, 2002 from 2-5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
