Obituary

Anthony Carcia, of Medford, a retired fisherman, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was 92.


Mr. Carcia was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Peter and the late Clementina (Durante) Carcia. A founding member of the Saint Rosalie Society in Boston, he came to Medford with his family in the 1950´s. Though he worked as a stone mason in the years before his retirement, Anthony was primarily a fisherman. He sailed much of his life with the Boston and Gloucester fleets.


Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Frances (Parisi) with whom he shared over 65 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Peter and his wife Joan of Reading, Sarah Ahern and her husband Kenneth of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Kathleen, Anthony, Karen and a great-grandfather of Daisy and Zoe. He was a dear brother of Rosalie Romagna of Somerville and the late Mary Trevisone, Vincenza Damian and Paul Carcia.


Family and friends may visit Friday from 4 thru 7 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Saturday at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
