Obituary

Arlene A. (Ward) McDonald, age 88, of Brockton, died February 20, 2015 at Baypointe Skllled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late John N. McDonald (ret BFD). Born in Worcester, Arlene was the daughter of the late Warren L. and Victoria (Glinski) Ward. She was raised and educated in Brockton and had been employed at both Knapp Shoe and Mutron Corporation for many years. For 20 years, Arlene divided her time between Kissimmee, FL, and West Wareham. She was known for her fun-loving spirit and enjoyed dining out with friends and family. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, shopping, Bingo, and sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Arlene is survived by her children Carol Haskell and her husband James of Taunton, Marge Sheridan and her husband Robert of Brockton, and James McDonald and his husband Richard Bacon of New York City; six grandchildren Jennifer Harris, Joseph McDonald, Brian Haskell, Dennis Sheridan, Kelsey Sheridan and Justin McDonald; one great grandchild Lilly Harris; a sister Madeline Reilly of Englewood, FL, a daughter in law Gail McDonald of Rockland and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John McDonald and sister of the late Warren Ward and Betty Austin.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 4-7pm. A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
