Eileen M. Shea, 84, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday February 18, 2015 in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. She was born in Lowell, MA on July 30, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Garrity) Roberts. Eileen had been a resident of Derry since 1993, formerly living in Lowell where she was a 1948 graduate of Lowell High School. She had been employed as a Contracts Administrator for the City of Lowell for five years, retiring in 1991. Eileen was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, and was a member of the Catholic Aglow Fellowship, the Sacred Heart League, and the Blessed Virgins Sodality.
She is survived by five daughters, Joanne Fox of Lowell, MaryAnn Donoghue of Milford, NH, Eileen Shea of Lowell, Ann Marie Persampieri of E. Derry, NH, and Karen S. Collinsworth of Derry; three sons, Robert C. Shea of Derry, Cornelius J. Shea, Jr. of Milford, NH, and Walter R. Shea of Chelmsford, MA; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three brothers, Walter P. Roberts of Brattleboro, VT, Frederick G. Roberts of Chelmsford, MA, and Paul A. Roberts of Kennebunk, ME; two sisters, Sr. Helen M. Roberts O.S.F. of Quincy, MA, and Mary A. Curran of Dracut, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, February 22nd from 1 – 5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. The burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
