Obituary

Catherine E. “Kitty” Salisbury, 91, of Dexter Lane in North Scituate, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 with her daughters by her side.

Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie (Hallene) Healey, she grew up and lived in Warwick for over 75 years before moving to North Scituate.

In her earlier years, Mrs. Salisbury had worked at her parent’s farm, Healey’s Farm in Warwick. She later worked as a switchboard operator for Providence Washington, the former Hinckley Allen and Kelly’s Florist. She held many offices and was past president of the Lippitt School PTA and was a volunteer at Head Start. Catherine served in the Navy during WWII as a Gunnery instructor stationed in Pensacola, FL.

She was the beloved mother of Katherine Fecteau of Scituate, Barbara Oliveira of Warwick; grandmother of Jennifer and and Lori and great grandmother of : Samantha, Emma and Adam. She was predeceased by a sister and seven brothers. She was the mother in law of the late John Oliveira.

Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 11:30am in Highland Park Chapel, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dana Farber Institute, 1153 Centre Street, Boston, MA 02130 or Disabled American Veterans, 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908.
