Wendy Ann (Daley) Smith, 51, recently of Georgetown, MA, died suddenly February 9, 2015. Born July 12, 1963 in Boston, she grew up in Cohasset, MA and Nashua, NH. She was the dearly loved mother of twin girls Alexa Kip Smith and Morgan Lee Smith both of Carlisle, MA. She was the cherished daughter of Joan (Kip) Lyons and the late John A. Lyons of Plymouth, MA; and the late Daniel J. Daley of Canton, MA. She is also survived by her half-brother, Kip Lyons of Clinton, CT; step-sisters Heather Wakelin, UAE and Biddeford, ME; Carrie Nissi, Bradford, MA; and Jody Bowskill, Belfast, ME. She was also step-sister to the late Dirk Lyons, Woodstock, NH.
Wendy graduated from the Tilton School, Tilton, NH in 1982 and the University of New Hampshire, Durham, class of 1986. After college she worked as a property manager for the Finch Group in Boston. As the former wife of Greggory Smith, she and their family moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malasia for several years, and then on to Paris, France for three years before settling back in the States.
Wendy was a lovely, very warm, generous, loving and funny person who will be missed by all who knew her. Among her favorite things in life were all animals (especially golden retrievers), warm sunny weather, a day at the beach, and traveling far and wide. She loved fashion and interior decorating and her favorite flowers were irises. Her decorating was exquisite and always admired by friends and family. She was also an accomplished skier and tennis player. Above all else in her life though was the love and pride she took in her beautiful twin girls.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wendy's memory (as Kip Lyons' sister)to Vista Vocational and Life Skills Center, 1356 Old Clinton Road, Westbrook, CT 06498. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
