Obituary

Regina B. “Jean” White, 72, of Derry, NH, died on January 4, 2005 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH following a lengthy illness. Regina was born in Watertown, NY, on May 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Harold and Frances (Stanley) Broome. Regina grew up in Pulaski and Westvale, New York, and was educated in Solvay and Syracuse, New York. After graduating from Central City Business Institute, she was employed by State Mutual Life Insurance Company as a bookkeeper.
Regina married Carlton White in 1953. Together they lived in North Syracuse, NY where she became a charter member of the Lionettes. Having started a family Regina joined the P.T.A. and did volunteer work for the school. She and her family raised A.K.C. collie dogs until the family moved to Derry, NH, in 1966. Regina became active in the Girl Scouts, enjoyed writing, painting and raising her family. She wrote the Newsletter for Hoodkroft Country Club and was a member of the Association for a few years. Regina was employed for thirteen years at Treasure Masters in Derry, as a sample clerk.

In addition to her husband with whom she would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on January 6, 2005, she is also survived by six sons, Carlton White, Jr., of Middleborough, MA, Richard White of Derry, Lynn White of Hudson, James White, of Auburn, William White of Goffstown, and Glenn White of Londonderry, and two daughters, Paula Josephson of Derry and Diana Farwell of Londonderry, 22 grandchildren, one great grandchild, her sister, Joyce Yates and brother, Richard Broome, both of New York State, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Diana Kermes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 7th at 10:00am at Holy Cross Parish, Hampstead Road, Derry. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Thursday from 2 -4 and 6 - 8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NH, 9 Cedarwood Dr., Unit 12, Bedford, NH 03110.
